Start with the exact finish

To check decorative wall panel cleaning compatibility, identify the selected panel and surface finish, obtain the care instructions for that combination, and ask the supplier how to review the intended cleaner on a representative sample. A WPC core or a PVC film name alone does not establish compatibility with every cleaning product.

This guide helps importers, distributors and project buyers prepare a maintenance discussion. It does not approve a chemical for an SZ STRONG BUILD product, prescribe a universal cleaning recipe or establish disinfectant performance.

    Read product-specific instructions

Dumaplast provides cleaning advice for its own PVC panels and cautions against abrasive products and aggressive substances. Its recommendations belong to those products. They are useful evidence that maintenance requirements should be obtained from the relevant manufacturer; they are not approval for a different panel or decorative film.

The 3M architectural finishes library likewise links cleaning information to the technical data for named finishes. When a cleaner or method is mentioned in another manufacturer's guide, check the product name and scope before applying that guidance to your selected finish.

Keep the current care document with the finish reference. If the finish, coating or product revision changes, request an updated instruction instead of assuming that an older sheet still applies.

      Prepare a cleaning review brief

Record the cleaner's exact name and intended use, the selected finish reference, the surface texture and the planned application location. Ask the supplier which information is required to assess suitability. Separate routine removal of dust from stain removal and any proposed disinfection process; these are different requirements.

Before any sample review, agree the method with the supplier. Record the sample identity, proposed cleaner, method, date, observations and decision. Inspect the appearance under consistent conditions so changes in sheen or colour are not overlooked. A brief appearance review should not be described as a durability test or chemical-resistance certification.

        Keep unresolved requirements visible

If compatibility information is missing, keep the maintenance decision pending and request clarification. A generic online cleaning recipe should not silently replace the product-specific instructions needed for your project.

        • Request care instructions for the actual panel and decorative finish.
        • Identify the cleaner and intended maintenance task precisely.
        • Agree a sample review method before making an approval decision.
        • Record any unresolved compatibility question and the person responsible for answering it.
        • Give the installer or facilities team the approved current care document.
